OK, so i've been reading that the actuators are a problem, mine was, anyways I've found out how to fix them(saving myself 200 dollars) if anyone is interested,pm me
OK- so once you remove the actuator assy. you take off the actuator from the latch assy. then ur gonna have to force the acuator open by prying , its glued together. dont worry about gluing it back its held together by two screws, you will see that there is a motor inside similar to a a slot car motor(i have lots of exp. with these) ur gonna need to open this up,once open you'll see that the brushes are probably worn but that won't matter much, just re-tension the brushes, then clean the cummutator and reassemble.once this is done pull out the gear (the big one) and discard the spring, then reassemble the whole thing and youll see it works again!!!!
ps. im trying to find just this motor cause im sure its worth like $2
I've done something similar to this on a honda accord before...Now i have this problem on two of my doors but have an appointment at lexus monday to get them fixed (Thank god for warranty)
Pics and a little more detail on steps would definitely help just to make sure we are doing it correctly. Can you give a little more detail like how you got to them and what you needed to remove or do like keep the window rolled up/down, what you unscrewed, any problems getting the actuator out or putting it back, etc. I will probrably try this but I am a little nervous I might screw something up.
when my actuator failed it was because the connector on the cable broke and nobody sells the cable separately. i know others have had the same failure point.
