I'll try to be short. I had a check engine light on and i had to get the car smogged checked today. I unlpugged the black(negative) cable from the battery for about 10 sec and reconnected it. TUrn the car on and ALL looked good BUT NO INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS!!! I cant see the speedometer or any other info. Also i notced that all the needles are not even moving while i drive. It just died.

Please help!!! Did i trip a fuse?? I have disconnected the battery before to reset the check engine light so i am perplexed.

Sounds like a fuse. Check all the related fuses.

So i was able to pull the GAUGE 10.0A and PANEL 7.5A fuses. There is no disconnection in the "link" in the fuse. What other fuses i can check?

sorry don't know what to tell you, other than pull out the voltmeter and start testing.

for the future, you should invest in some kind of code reader to clear codes.

This happened to me too, same thing.. My car was at the shop, the mechanic said the battery terminal was loose so he removed it, changed the terminal then when he reinstalled it the dash lights went out. a few days later I went ot pick it up and it worked fine, It's been 8 months and no issues. I didn't even change a fue or anything, just came back by itself.

UPDATE:

I actually searched the forums and found out that if the NEGATIVE (BLACK) cable on the battery is unplugged for about 45min-1hour then reconnected..it helps. Well it did it for me and the lights came on...I am very happy because the car passed smog and all is good. Thank you all..CLUBLEXUS to the rescue again...
