Sounds like your dealer doesnt have a clue. You can buy the chrome trim seperate, just try another dealer or Carson Lexus on this forum.

Not so sure about that... the bumpers have a simple adhesive-backed
chrome strip; the side panel strips are riveted on from behind the lower
door caps. You'll have to drill out the rivets to remove the old chrome strip(s).

This is probably why Lexus wants to sell you the entire panel.

Your best bet might be a Lexus salvage yard (like T.A.P. Auto recycling)
but they will want to sell you the entire panel- they won't be interested
in having a worker spend time drilling-out the factory rivets.

Why not buy more of the bumper chrome strips and cut/apply them on the sides?

Because that will not work. And it would look very silly.

you just need one door cap metal pc. Try calling TAP recycling for that part. You can polish the other peices. come by the shop and I'll put you to work on them.

LiL S' car is in our bodyshop. The hacks that put his old kit on chopped up his old trim , stuffed his doors with cardboard and bondo (seriously)....pics to come
