On my way home from school on Monday, I was rear ended by a Dodge Neon. Kind of a complicated situation but I will try to explain what happened.
Some idiot decided that he would stop completely on the #4 lane so that he could get into the #5 lane (a freeway interchange). The Dodge Dakota behind him had to stop and veered to the left partially into my lane, just narrowly missed getting hit by a semi. Because I saw this I stopped as well. I have never applied by brakes so hard before tires screeching and everything. Then like a second later the Neon hits me at 15-20 mph. The impact pushes me into the Dakota.
We start to exchange information when the CHP arrives. We later find out that the lady driving the Neon doesnt have a license. But our insurance companies are going to take care of everything.
I dropped my car off at the shop today and the owner says that there is a chance that the car might be totaled because of possible frame damage. In the mean time here are some pics and I will definitely keep you guys posted.
You can really see the damage here on the quarter panel, but it is pushed forward. I can't open the rear passenger door unless I pull really hard on it.
I am glad that no one was hurt in the accident, after all, a car is just a car.
About the wheels, I actually had them posted for sale. They probably will still be for sale whether or not the car is totaled. I will get the insurance company to fix the scratches from the accident.
Dude, check the body shops skills and what they are going to do about that rear quarter. I have seen two GSs in a body shop with the rear quarter smacked up like that, and they cannot pull it out correctly. That quarter is crazy strong. They might use a crap load of body filler on that. The other way is to cut it out. So check what they will do.
