Please help
Hello I just purchased an GS 400.....When ever I accerlerate it feels like someone yanks(hard yank) on the sterring wheel for about an split second then it goes away . Whats is going on?
I'm not accelerating that hard even when I come to a stop the steering wheel moves to the right it's like a quick tug for a slit second. It's also vibrating at 60 plus I just had new balanced tires put on. Could the bushing be bad if so which ones should I replace? Thanks
If I were you, I would get my GS checked up by dealer or a shop.
My guess is bad ball joints, which is very common problems for GS300 or GS400. When my GS400 got ball joints swapped out at 80k, the old ball joints look horrible..

If your GS has more than 90k miles, check with dealer to search the car's service history to see if 90k service (with timing belt and water pump) been done or not. If not , you should get it done asap.

Torque steer comes from FWD or AWD cars... not really a prevolent problem on RWD.
As for the problem... That's kind of baffling... I'm thinking that it's the ball-joints. That would be my first place to check considering how notorious of a problem it is with the GS.

It sounds like you have some kind of front end problem.
Look for a reputable shop and ask for a front end inspection only. Never go
to chain stores like Sears or nationwide/local chained tire stores, because stores like that never have a "lifetime" alignment technician who konws detail about front end, suspension, and steering linkage problems.
Good luck with that.
