Oh man, the alignment is the worst part! I hate it! Here's a tip for you, but I think it's a little too late. Before you cut all the bowls up and all you need a reference point to where the headlight will be perfectly level. The reason for this is because a headlight placed on a flat surface such as a table will not be sitting in the same position as it would be in the car. Before you even begin the retro, power on the headlights on a flat surface and place coins or suitable items under the headlight so that the beam shining on the wall is perfectly level. This way you have a reference to how to aim your projectors without having to keep walking out to the car, mount the lights, test the aim, and go back inside to remount the projectors.
Another tip when aiming indoors: use something on the wall that you are 100% sure is level as a reference point. For example, the bottom sill of a window, trim around the walls, wallpapers/paint on the wall. If for some reason your house does not have any of this or you're doing the retro in the garage, place a long line of masking tape on the wall. Make SURE the tape is level
my friend had a bad experience with that. He kept wondering why the heck his headlights mounted in the car were not level while the beam on the wall was!!! You're best bet would be to use a laser projection level meter to ensure a level line of tape.Anyways, good luck on your retro!

I fixed it a few weeks ago though.
