As long as using the same keyed lock the key will work in the lock. There is one large group of wires running down the drivers side trunk hinge. You'lll have to take off the trunk inner liner to see which wires have a plug-in harness.

what year is your car ? and this might help you a little bit but ill try to get a camera and do a diy thing on this forum when my camera is repaired.. but as into the tail lights i have the 2001 and @ first you have to open the trunk, where your tail lights are located there should be two plastic buttons that have to be removed by a screw driver and then theres two 1.5 inch button (black has blubs picture on them) on top and bottom of the carpet panel where the "behind the tail light inner trunk" then you shuold see two nuts i belive its a 12 or 14 mm i aint sure but yeah there's two nuts just loosen it and take the two nuts out but gotta becareful because your working in a small hole here and the nuts will fall down and its sucks tryna look for it...other way is you have to remove the two plastic pins on the side of the bottom trunk there should be a plastic shield with the fork driver then take out the shield then bent the plastic carpet upholstry then you can see how to take it out.. sorry if its confusing..

Got it thanks! Will the TRUNK POP still work from the key if I swap trunks? I have an idea how to swap the trunk (done it in the past with friends cars) but I wnat to make sure the TRUNK POP feature will stilll work after swaping..
