I called my local dealer and asked them for a price on the front and rear passenger door lock actuators.
They quoted me:
$296.55 for the front (said it only came with the actuator and lock assembly?)
$128.29 for the rear (actuator only)
Does this sound right?
I'm afraid you got quoted for the wrong price on the rears. It's about the same as the fronts if not more like I was quoted. Make sure it's not something else that you're being quoted for. Here's both numbers for the rears to help you out.
And yes it comes with the lock assembly. So everything has to be changed out! The lock is built into the actuator and so is the control for the lighting. If your actuator is bad and sticks, your light won't go on when you open that one rear door until the switch is engaged. Happened to mine's.
The most frustrating thing is that if you don't change it, eventually it will go out completely and you won't be able to lock your car remotely. You'll have to walk all around to the passenger rear side to just lock your car. I've been there and it sucks! Especially during the rain.
Oh yes...I'm there...have been for a couple years. I'm now in the habit of going around the car and checking each door.

Man, I feel for you! I just can't stand it when little things like this happens to my car. I feel ashame for driving a nice car and the doors don't work right, especially when I have friends with me. I HAD to change it out before anyone knew of this embarrassment. Whew!
