Default Replace fuel pump?

Guys,

I am pulling out my Walbro 255lph fuel pump and going back to stock. My stock one has 110k on it. Do you think I should buy a new OEM one or just put my old one back in. It never had any problems before I took it out.

Thanks,
jonny

It depends how much you have to spend for brand new OEM, if it's way more than 150-200, i would go with old FP, they are built to last long time,

Sugestion: if you decide to go with old FP, sink FP in bucket filled with fuel for about 1 or 2 days before installation

Hey man,

Even with CL discount it is still $248. I think I will just put the old one back in but I will use your trick. What exactly does that do?

Thanks man,
Jonny

If FP was sitting in your garage for awhile, it totally dried up, so before you put it back on you want reduce risk of FP running dry when installed, this is precaution you can take in advance instead of ending up with new FP couple days or weeks later.

Note: I can't guarantee that FP will be running fine even if you do what i've suggested, like i mentioned before this is precaution you still have time to do, it's better to be on safe side than sorry

P.S. What's the reason for swiching FP back to stock?

I'm guessing that he probably doesn't like the noise of the Walbro. Those high pressure/high flow pumps are quite noisy. My friend has dual fuel pumps (I think walbro's) in his Supra and there is a loud high pitch whine all the time.

agreed. if you're going to do the work already (unless the labor is not intensive at all) then go with the new fuel pump.

if the labor is easy like brushing your teeth- go with the old one and swap for a new one if it breaks.
