Default Finally got my GS300....

I finally got a 99 GS300.. Silver on Black with 35 % tint.. The car is clean as they come with zero defects.. I have some pictures but it looks like every other GS so no need to post them (Unless you guys really want to see it).. I have to say the car is everything I expected, I am 6' 5" so the extra room in a big car like this is great!!

The only mods. I plan on doing is getting 20" wheels in the next 2 months and getting a badass 12" sub towards the middle of the summer.... Can't wait for those two items, after that, it will be as complete as I need it to be (actually I want HIDs as well but need to prioritze)..

I do have a question for everyone... I popped the hood and the freaking thing wouldn't close shut! I am a former automotive Tech.. so I removed the latch from the hood brace and noticed the cable was sticking (it popped back into place with a little movement and lube).. The problem is now the thing won't open... Any suggestions on how to get the hood popped with a nonfunctiong latch?? This happened on another GS I test drove about a month ago so I am thinking its a common problem on these cars?

Thanks in advance..

Don't expect that!! You will be broke by the end of the summer lol. And yes post pics I want to see some 35% tint really bad.

Hello,
I had the same problem with my 2001 gs300's hood.
I was on a road trip and poped my hood to check the oil. After that it would not close/latch. I had to tie it down and stop at the next lexus dealership I came across (in AZ). They were able to get it closed and told me not to open it until I got home (Chicago). When I got home I pop[ed the hood. It still was broken. I had to go to my local lexus and have the hood latch and cable replaced.

I have the same issue with my GS. Had the dealership check it out last oil change and they stated it was the cable. If I jiggle the cable behind the drivers side headlight I can hear the latch snap back to where it should be and the hood will close as it should. Next project, replace hood cable.

I have seen a few for about $1K plus tires, but havn't really found the perfect ones yet.. thanks again..
