I can get a version 3 and a version 4 DVD right now and was wondering if they will work in my 2001 GS300. I have version 2.1 in there right now and want an updated one because there are alot of roads in my area that are not on there. Will the new versions work or do I have to get the 2.2 or 2.3 that they just came out with?

Well, I just got my Navigation DVD disc today (Data Ver 3.1) and it worked. I think my gf's disc would have worked too. I found out that my map coverage area was not selected as California after I installed it so the POI's wouldn't work. The same thing happened when I installed Ver 3.1 in my car but I now have California selected and it works fine. I haven't had a chance to see what's new about it so I guess I'll experiment for a bit and update you guys in a couple of days. Just in case you guys are wondering, the part number for the Ver 3.1 is 86271-33032.

version 3 and 4 work fine. however you gotta make sure its from a second or third generation navi, not 4th generation IE 2005-2006 SC430 and I am not sure about the other models

 

I know for a fact that the original DVD from a 2004 GX 470 will work on a 2001 GS 300.
