Default help me decide!

Guys,

I have a GS430 and am debating whether to get it tinted... What do you guys think? Will the Black cherry look nice with the tints? If so, how dark should I go?

Just MHO, but tint is absolutely mandatory, especially in CA, AZ and FL. I have put tint on every car I've had in the last 19 years, and it's a lot of cars because I trade a lot! I've always talked my wife into tint too and she has always loved it. I feel naked when I drive a rental car or something that doesn't have tint!

I used to put on 20% when I was in S. Cal due to the strong sun, I think that percent is perfect there. Now in GA I have 35% (legal limit), at first I hated it since it was lighter than what I'm used to, but now I like it as it is much cloudier here so the sun is not as much of a factor. With a black interior 35% still looks pretty dark, if it was tan I think it might be too light.

Depends on what you want, go to the tint shop they should be able to show you some samples so you can get an idea.

you should take a look at some samples. and hold it up to your window to see which one you like.

Do it. But since you live in CA, I would just go as legal as possible.

I really like the tints available today. I had 30% installed on one of my other cars and really liked it. Classy looking, yet functional during the summer. Problem was, even with today's films, you have got to be careful or scratches will appear. I had some light scratches show up after about 6 months in the drivers side window from being rolled up and down every day to use my parking card at work. Other than that, I'd say go for it.

I used to tint all my vehicles real dark, right away, but now I don't. I like the cleaner look of no tints, and I also don't trust anyone to do the job perfectly clean.

i tinted my ride the day after i bought the car..ahha...it just makes it look so much classier...i dont remember which shade i went for...i think i got high performance platinum tint...one shade lighter than limo tint...i was facing the same dilemma regard to which shade to get...but after seeing a finished product on a bmw 745i...i was like...yeah..get me that tint..lolz...in my opinion...if you gonna tint a car...have the same shade all around...looks much nicer that way....u won't ever get pull over for having dark tint in california if you're driving a luxury car...trust me on that....mine's pretty dark...but the downside is..the ladies can't see who the driver is...tsk tsk....

I'm in NJ where it's illegal to have the front windows tinted . Won't pass inspection. Lot's of people do just the rear windows, which I'm not a real fan of. So I'm decising - go for it all around and find someone who will inspect, or do just the rear and not be completely happy, or just dont' do it.
