Are there any differences between the two when they're off and turned on? I'm going to get a pair of 01+ tails and wanted to know the differences so I can get the "complete" 01+ look.

 

no difference but a new pair would match better. you can tell the difference between old and new. go for the whole package and replace the outer and inner lenses..

I just completed this mod. and to me the look was worth it.

Car looks totally different IMO.

I also replaced the inner tails since the driver side one was a bit faded.

 

depends.. on my set, my inner were faded and you could tell the difference between the newer outer and faded inner. yes, i tried plastic polish to wipe the inner clean but it didn't work. it seems to me that the red pigment in the plastic was faded by the sun and once this happens, you can't do anything. i even tried spaying the inner with candy apple red but it didn't turn out right. i gave up and went to carson to pick up some new inners.

 

i have also seen a gs with faded inner taillights. definitely need to change it. if it's just blur, polish is good. if it's fading, no hope
