Anybody else getting these annoying pop ups, *every* *single* load of a page?

I'm not getting it on every page but I do get it when the forum first opens...and occasionally later, but I can't pin down what seems to be triggering it.

I've posted a thread in Site Suggestions asking Mike what's going on.

You don't want to disable Java Applets, you might need it for other websites.

Try this utility instead:

I have been, recently, getting pop-ups too. I had multiple windows up and couldn't target it exactly. Eventually I only opened clublexus and that is where it is coming from!

There should be no more pop-ups. I was testing the code for a few days but I have deleted all the code relating to the pop-up.

You should be good to go now.....

Default Don't bitch..

If you remember a while back, we all discussed how this site could make a little more money to stay afloat. The banner (pop-up) is a way of paying for the servers, bandwidth, and the many hours that the owner of the forum puts in to make it work right. Please support the site and do a click-through every once in a while to show that the site is generating hits.

BTW, where is that donation page we spoke of? PayPal links? As I said before I'd be willing to donate to the site on occassion. It provides a plethora of information on EVERY LEXUS SUBJECT. Whenever we ask, whether it would be about strut bars, air intake, engine swaps, rims, superchargers, exhaust systems, or ANYTHING else, we always receive a ton of information from other readers.

Come on guys! Let's show our appreciation..

MrHorse,

There was a pay pal link on the home page for some time. And it received donations from the members. I know I contributed.

But, for whatever reason Mike took it down.

The issue is not whether we'd be willing to support Mike's efforts with contributions. The members of the site have shown in the past that they will. It's nice to see you would do so as well.

My take on the point of this thread was that the pop-ups started appearing without any foreknowledge and an explanation (from Mike) was requested.

Hey Horse,

If your reply was directed at me, see below.

If not, don't take it personal.

First of all, I ain't bitchin. Especailly about the site itself, just the pop ups.

Second of all, I've only been here about a week, so no, I don't 'remember a while back.....'

Thirdly, from Mike's comments above, I don't think he initiated the pop ups, especailly as a source of revenue.

Attemp to police yourself and comments you make, not others.

Have a great weekend!

Default SMOOOOOOOOCH..

Dexter.. Take it easy. It's never a personal thing on this board. I said "don't bitch" in a TGIF-type of wit, to everyone.

As for policing, I have no intention of restricting myself or others. It's a forum, here for an exchange of information. You're free to bitch and I'm free to comment on your bitching. Then you're free to bitch at my comments at your bitching. And so on.

In either case, feel free to bitch at me.

As for no more po-ups.. Mike was "testing" code.

Have a nice weekend yourself.
