Default GS400 Trunk Remote Problem

The trunk remote button on both master keys failed a while back. I thought the battery was low. The dealer replaced the battery on one key. The trunk release button then worked fine once, one oly, but failed after then. The dealer could not solve the problem. They only suggested to replace the transponder. It may bring up the cost to reprogram or replace the master keys as well.

Did anyone have the same issue? Suggestion will be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hey man,

I also have the same problem and do not have the solution unfortunately. Everything else on my transponder works just fine, but for some reason the trunk doesn't

Let us know if you work anything out.

Just in case it was overlooked .....

The hold down time for trunk release on the Key remote is about 3~5 seconds ... much longer than the door lock.

I think the valet lockout (trunk kill switch) prevents the movement on truck relase mechanism in the cabin and has no affect on key remote ... not sure though.

Salim
Salim is exactly right. The switch requires at least 3 seconds depressed to unlock the trunk, must be some kind of failsafe system to pervent accidental or unintended opening.

koolaidman could be right. The trunk lock (kill switch) cannot be locked. I will take it to the dealer to look at the trunk lock. I will keep you guys posted of the progress. Thanks a lot.
