I assume you are talking about the bezel around the shifter.

The chrome bezel should have spades (or bayonets or lugs) sticking down. If the bezel goes on the right shroud they would snap in. [Lexus made an issue about it and they said you can not buy the bezel by itself ] If you are trying to fit this in an older model shroud you may have to use double sided tape to hold it down. If the spades interfere, you may have to snap them off (better still snip and file down) .. only do it to the ones that inerfere..

[note the plastic bezel (non-chrome) you have to bend (cup) the bezel for it to snap in at the dash and the rear passenger end.] This you can not do with the chrome, and the very reason I gave up on getting the plastic chrome plated.

it snaps into place....you need to push in one side...then lift up....and the otherside should slide out easily.

Unfortunately, i dont remember which side you need to push in and lift.

I just did it too...when i did my full replacement blackwood (not stick-ons)...i kept my chrome bezel.

I really dont think it matters if you have old or new console shift area...the notches should be there to fit the chrome bezel.

I have the black one off already its the CHROME one i cant put on, i get one side on and the other side it sees like the tabs are so solid that i cant stap them....i might have to cut/file the tabs down a lil.

It's really easy to slip that on there, you may need a small flat screwdriver to help bend the tabs.
