David:

Bulbs upgrade consists of changing the inner wedge bulbs into Raybrig pure blue.. (really nice) and to change turnk light (the bulbs that lights the lisence plate) into purple to match with the red brake light at nite.

Wei:

Can you give me the bulb numbers? By the way congrats on the new ride. Sounds like you're not wasting anytime with the upgrades.

I remember you were talking about fixing up the GS3's motor, but I'll tell you it's hard to beat the V-8's power. Will you be selling the GS3 as is, or can you swap some parts for the GS430? Hopefully next time I'm back down south, we can all hook up. Already planning to meet up with Bliu and GS4will.

Again, congrats!

Bulb Upgrades.

Are the RayBrigs with the 4100K light the best bulbs? I want to replace the 9006 in the fog lights and the bulbs for the DRL's - I don't care too much for the license plate - unless they are not too costly.

Who can get these at a good price and does anyone know how long they are expected to last?

Thanks,

Khanh

Default to silvergs

S,

for your car, if you trade it in to the dealers and get a new gs430, you would prob get~$25-26k. if you sell it yourself, you can probably get ~28K

Whoa.. William, you think he can get that much from a dealer if he trades it in? I was thinking in the high teens to low 20's range. My friend has a 1998 GS400 with 43,000 miles and the dealer would only offer him $22k for it. And thats a 400! Well, he had some aftermarket mods like 20" rims, and tv's but it shouldn't affect the resale value TOO much because he didn't have any engine mods.

D,

i usually check w/ www.kbb.com and my deaaler guy has been pretty good w/the value i got from that site. for example, WEI was thinking of trading in his 98 gs3, and the site gave me ~$21 k. then my dealer guy also appraised at the same value. since ssilvergs has less miles than wei's he would get more. the general rule is you deduct $0.20 for every miles. of course, the condition is very important. i have seen some 00 benz in such piece of junk condition, i would rather drive a new acccord.

i do not know what is the condition of your friend's gs; plus i think your dealer might be ripping him off big time. he should at least get $26k for it.

used gs4 v. gs3- the price is very close. this is because w/same % in depreciation, the price now is not as much as new cars. so for those who consider used, GS4 would be the way to go.

S,

actually, it all depends on what kind of mods you want. WEI was thinking of doing engine work like turbo/ super charger. but the cost is too much, hence, he went for the 430.

if you just get the gs430 w/premium pkg. and sell the your gs, the diff is ~$24-25k
