Default Track Time

Today i was bore so i decided to head to the track to see what the 430 can do. On my first run, 1st gear felt so slowwww and sluggish as if i wasn't going anywhere. My car was soooo quite at the track, i couldn't it even hear my car take off. .... boy did my car feel so slow. even all the 4banger were quicker than my mine. welll... here it is... not an impressive # but oh well,

reaction: .642
I1 2.218
I3: 9.543
E.T. 14.686
MPH: 96.851
i guess it's only fast on top end.
(my RSX type S ran a 14.7 @96mph w/ just basic bolt on).... need to make my gs quicker.

Can anyone explain to me what the trapped speeds say about your car?

mid 14s for gs4 with 19s, that's not bad already. the gs4 is heavy, so yes you got a v8 but off the linke it's hard. cars like civic they are light that's why they don't need as much power.

get tc and supra tt rear end, you gain some, maybe high 13s if you are good

I agree, the car is heavy, but still pretty good considering what you have.

I'm sure the wider, larger, heavier 19s are hurting your time. Having a "fat" tire setup will also affect your gear ratio. Your suspension mods/braces are also adding some weight. at least it's still mid 14s

Next time, take out everything from your trunk, stick some spring stoppers in the rear springs, deftate the tires a little, power brake before launch, and let it rip, might get a better time.

Yea to the hardcore person. My friend unbolts his mirrors, and has cut out rear-pass side lens, its basically gutted. (you only need one light at the track). He has all of his rubber chasie coating melted off as well.

But if you go to the track out of boredom, leave it all.

it was a last minute deal so, everything was in my car, my son's carseat, clothes, spares, tools etc.

off the line i might think twice about racing anyone but on the freeway, my gs is a beast. it hasn't let me down.

i don't think i can live with having the cel on. it would bug me. it'll make me forget that i have a lexus.

i don't really feel too bad, considering that the new gs on various articles concluded between a 14.4 @ 98mph and 14.6@96mph time slips..... but i was hoping for a 14.4 or better maybe next time.
