Yes Dave I searched but all I found was stuff about the SC430. Well at first I thought that it was the speaker grill rattleing but its solid. It's like a poping sound almost like a loose peace on top of the woffer. Is this common?
Yes I do still have warranty but Id rather not deal with the dealer if there is a quick fix.

Had mine replace about 1.5 months ago. When I brought to the dealer they thought it was the foam ring surrounding the speaker had deterioated. When it came time to install the part it turn out to be a 10" hard plastic spacer ring that was glued to the frame of the subwoofer. If it was not under warranty I would of just glued it back to the frame. The dealer went ahead and replace it with a new ML subwoofer anyway.
Im still under warranty so I'll be taking it in ASAP. Id just rather not deal with the dealer if I didnt have to. Las time I was there I got a gouge in my Salin's so bad the it gauged the tire also. I noticed it 5min after I pulled out so I didnt even boughter trying to tell them they did it just went to the closest tire shop for new rubber.
I have that rattle also and I think it will really suck if I have to remove the rear seat to get to it. Let us know what the dealership comes up with
well but you don't have ML the ml sub is only 8", so it could be the mounting issue
just curious, does the rattle come constantly or only if you turn up the volume? on mine (stock pioneer), at low volume it's ok, but at high volume, the whole rear deck will rattle pretty bad

I also dont have my sub hooked up I didnt power the sub when I did my system install because it sounded like crap. The rattle is caused when I am either going over bumps in the road or when I rev the engine up and the exhaust is louder than it is at cruising speeds. This vibration causes something around the sub to rattle. I dont know if it is the cover that is inside the cabin or the sub itself or what. But I dont want to have to take the back seat to fix it.
Mines comes when I turn the volume up but only on certain bass patterns though.
yup, same here, even with volume it has to be some specific tone in the base that will cause the whole rear deck to resonance. i guess that's where resonance frequency comes in
I had the same problem with the SUB on my SC430. Unfortunately the sub was blown, more specifically, the surrounding foam had deteriorated thus making a very annoying rattle sound. You are better of disconnecting it completely...
