Wheel Protection
Hey guys.
I have just upgraded my wheels and I really love them. I know a lot of you guys also have very very nice wheels. What kind of measures are you guys taking to protect your wheels? I'm kind of scared because for my wheels, there really is no wheel lock that can fit. It just has a special kind of bolt that is smaller and uses a special kind of wrench- but the thing is, the wrench looks like it could be found in any car store! I've heard stories that people that steal wheels come every night to your car and undo one lug at a time. Than finally, on the last night, they just undo the last one and they're out of there before you can say stop. This makes me really nervous. Any comments or concerns? Anyone know it there are wheel locks I can buy for the AV3s? Thanks

I protect mine using either my Glock 23, HK USP Compact 40, or, if the situation gets ugly, my Colt AR-15 M4.
As for the lug worries, that's why I check my lugs every time I get in my car (just a visual). Besides, after 4 lugs are loose, you NOTICE it when you drive...
Most wheel locks are defeatable...trust me, I have a set of wheel lock removal tools that any mechanic's shop can get, I've have to "help out" a few friends who lost their key...
The best thing, INSURE IT. If you have your own garage, put a survallance camera in it (they're under $100 now a days)

GS4Me - Counter Strike ..heheheh...I have lost MANY hours of sleep due to this damn game...along with Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament...
The Glock (well any pistol) in that game sucks big...but in real life, I don't know about you, but I don't want to be on the business end of a .40 caliber Glock 23 loaded up with some Corbons...Hell, I don't want to be on the business end of a paint ball gun!
Pain sucks. Bleeding heavily sucks even more...
If we lived in a truly free country, I wouldn't mind owning each of these...the FN P90...this is my absolute favorite sub machine gun...you can't beat 50 rounds of highly accurate armor piercing ammo...and the "Five-seveN" pistol (uses the same ammo as the P90) wouldn't be bad either!
(the SS190 5.7mm ammo that the P90 and "Five-seveN" use will pierce 48 layers of Kevlar, a CRISAT target [titanium and kevlar], and a PASGT Kevlar Battlefield helmet...maybe that's why the Gov't doesn't allow civilians to even own the ammo!
)
I would sell my ENTIRE collection to legally own this one weapon...but I'd have to keep my HK P7PSP (pretty rare SUPER MINT 100% NIB purpleish blueing complete with original box and all accessories) and one other pistol...something in .40 cal or .45 ACP for home defense...armor piercing rounds are not good for home defense unless the ATF is the intruder.

HK USP (.40 or .45) or Sig (229 in .40 or .357 SIG is best) would be a excellent choice. Just make sure you learn how to use it properly (loading, unloading, checking the chamber, etc., etc...pratice with dummy rounds!) and make sure you LEARN and LIVE by the basic firearm rules. VERY, VERY IMPORTANT. NO JOKE.
As far as insurance, some insurance companies will cover rims up to the a certain point (I think most do)...some other insurance companies will allow you cover your rims seperately...

My friend has the same type of lugs a common name is gorilla. They use a wrench to fit on the lugs because of how thin they are. He just got some locks from a local car shop, so you can get them, just may take some work.
manaray what do the wheel lock tools you have look like? I am just wondering how that would work. It was my understanding that if you didn't have your key the shop welded something on the lug to turn it.

You can't go wrong with the AUG in CS! Or, if your in a level like Italy where it's all close range I gotta go with the Binelli!
Man, my cousin got me hooked on the game a month ago and I've been late getting up for school every day since! I'm always in the HK server(209.81.232.66:29015) playing as "**Stud FK**".

Tim well one of them looks like socket but if you look down the inside, it's coned and there are some thin "rails" that go all the way down. What you do is you hammer it onto the lock lug, it's made of hardened steel so the rails dig into the lock and then you just attach a wrench and twist it off...viola! It works on both smooth lock lugs (the one with the clover pattern in the center) and with the type with "rails" on the outside...
So with this one little socket, a "monkey wrench", a standard socket wrench (with a long handle), a Makita, and two "throw away" jacks, I can pretty much jack any rim on any car...and all that fits into a backpack...
Like I said...get insurance!
Another thing you can do is when you park your car, crank your wheel ALL the way to the left or two the right (as if you're parking on a hill)...it makes stealing your front rims much more difficult. If you don't believe me, do that, jack your car up, and try to take your rims off...
Francis K - Hey, I have a Benelli (in real life no less!) M3 Super 90 semi-auto/pump...it's pre-ban so I have a pistol grip stock along with 8 rounds of 12 gauge...worlds fastest semi-auto shotgun...unload all 8 rounds before the shell from the first round hits the ground...

that is interesting, how hard is it to hammer on? What would you need the Makita for?
Locks and insurance are definatly the best way to go. One thing to think about before getting additional insurance on your wheels. Are they less than the factory wheels? If so I don't think you should need extra insurance. Most factory wheels run around 400 with out tires, which is about the same as a lot of aftermarket rims.
I heard a funny story on another board. A guy had 5 locks on each wheel, his car got stolen and everything was striped except for the wheels.
