Hey people.

Anyone of you knows if I can custom a cat-back system? For now my N1s are muffler only, not like GReddy or Tanabe. I think getting a mid-pipe will add some power (and sound) but will it drop my backpressure even more?

I'm getting AFC soon but I don't know if it'll help much if my exhaust is only mufflers.

Or can I just bolt on the pipes from GReddy or Tanabe? Do they sell them separate from the mufflers? thanks!

you will drop backpressure wtih any piping over 65mm.

the exhaust will also sound more ricy i think

it will probobly be louder

you will gain top end power, as well as top end torque

thanks for the tips man.

But isn't GReddy's pipes for the GS 70mm?
so anything under 65mm is fine?

GlobeCLK,

The GReddy system is properly sized for the out put of a 400 or 430. The piping size is 70mm. Now the size is too big for the 300's. contact me privately and I can help you get a mid-pipe. Talk with you soon.

yea kodai is right, the GReddy exhaust was originally made for the V300 turbo Aristo, and so it works best with higher output engines like the 400 and 430

The GReddy exhaust that is sold here in the US is and was designed for the US spec. GS 400. The difference between the Japan spec and the US spec. is the mid-pipe. The Japan spec has a non restrictive mid pipe. this means that there is no resonator. The US spec has a very large resonator. The mufflers are too close to call. But it is with great confidence that I also now that the muffler do have some slight differences as well.

The system in japan is designed for turbo use. where as the system is is desiged for non-turbo app. The mid pipe is different due to the fact that if we used the mid pipe from japan we would give up about 2/3 of the back pressure of the US spec motors. 8 cyl. that is. The system is louad on the 300's however. Hope this helps.

Default Mid-pipe?

GlobeCLK,

Don't bother getting that mid-pipe. If you want optimal performance stay with stock. The guys at R&D did their homework. But if you absolutely want a midpipe, I have a couple of fabrication shops that can help you on it. Just remember that it is custom work and not cheap. If you want to go with a custom pipe, why not kill your catalytic convertor and opt for a downpipe? Your car will smell "hella" illegal and when you step on the throttle... black smoke! Then again you will get that extra ponies... in theory. The Super AFC will help you lean out the fuel mixture (...kinda like Mo's). By the way, who is going to tune it for you? I recommend you get an exhaust cam gear while you're at it (-2 retard).

v300:

I kinda dropped the idea for the mid-pipe. Too much sacrifice for minimal gain.

But interested in the cam gears. Are they gonna help much? Will it matter more if I have S-AFC?
