What is the part / serial / model # for the Optima Red for my 2001 GS300? A search on the Optima site came up with nothing....but im sure someone here is using one that fits.
Thanks in advance.

Red has higher cranking amps. Yellow is for like a second battery or for high power amps etc.
I emailed optima before when I thought I wanted a yellow. They said the yellow for GS is #D34 and you need a height adapter called G24(part #242-0033)
They never told me what model for the red. That is what I will prob get when my battery dies.

^^bump!
for the GS300 application... any inputs on whether to get yellow or red? I know that the yellow rocks but for normal application w/ maybe a small system. I'll only be pusing about 1000 watts. Do I really need the yellow top?
PS I'm trying to keep a uniformed color in my engine bay!

The yellow cranking power is pretty decent actually, but the main advantage is that it's a deep cycle. So if you drain it dry, it will charge back up without deteriorating or losing its reserve capacity.
The red top is pretty much a high end Interstate. Good battery, but nothing special aside from the spiral technology.
MANY CL members have used the Yellow for years without a problem.
Best prices I've found are from an Ebay store.
The height adapter can be substituted with a 3/4 inch thick piece of plywood (waterproofed) or better yet plastic or plexiglass.
If you don't like the color, get the Tsunami Power distribution block that mounts on top and is designed ONLY for use on Optima batteries.

Just go out and buy the mini-jumper that uses the cigarette lighter on both cars. I seen it for less than $10.
