Default Is this a good deal?

Just met a guy selling his GS400 today...

Black, 1999, 16000 miles...

he wants 28,000...

showroom condition...

he travels alot and has decided to not waste the car being parked so much...

check on autotrader.com and see what other similar cars are going for in your area...off the bat it seems like an ok deal, as i have seen three year old gs430's go for the same price, albeit with mileage in the 30,000 range....

With that mileage I would say yes.

A deal like that makes me realize that i got ripped when i bought mine. 45K miles for 30K. I would jump on it! Extremely low miles for a car that is now 5 years old, almost 6 and price is definately good if the car is in pristine condition.

Thumbs up

As always, run a carfax to verify the miles and get it inspected. You can never be too sure...

Otherwise, that would be an incredible deal!

Look it up on kbb.com, nada.com and edmunds. kbb says 22.8 k trade-in assuming excellent condition with 17s, spoiler and cd changer. That's what I shoot for EVERY time. Like others have said, how good of a deal it is all depends on what your wants are and how well it meets those wants. I say if you can get it down to 24-25 go for it!

I just saw this car an hour ago.

It is in great condition, the only cosmetic problem is about a dozen pebble hits on the front, not too noticeable except for one on the hood which needs some touching up.

The interior is all black except for the carpeting which is gray, something he had done when he first got the car.

The only thing preventing me from jumping on it is no NAV. Not sure if I should go aftermarket nav with this car or hold out for the right GS430.

Nakimichi sound system did not impress me either but overall if the selling price drops to the 25K range I might get it.

It's owned by a young guy and he had his dad there. The dad seems quite controlling so negotiations may not be as easy.

I wouldnt sweat the marks on the front, it seems like a Lexus problem.....just about all of the GS' I have seen are prone to get rock chips on the front.

I spoke to Chris at Audio Images, he quoted $2100 for the Pioneer nav/video unit installed.

He mentioned the Eclipse unit but had not actually installed one yet and they no longer carry Eclipse products.
