GS400 Pricing
Is it possible to pay in the lower 30k area for a 2000 GS400 with about 25,000 miles on it? Because I do have access to off lease whosale auto auctions but is it possible to find one around?
Honestly, that would be a great deal if you did. I got mine off the auction block---it was a 98 GS400 with 30k miles, and I got it for $30k. The car was in mint condition with all services done at the Dealership on time and no wrecks. If you do find one, good luck!!!!

Genius, how do you have access to those auto auctions...I have been trying to go to them but am not sure where they take place. I am also in CT so could you let me know how/where to get in to them.
most of those auctions are dealer only Manheim Auctions. you cannot get in if you are not a dealer...
genius, i have that exact car and just priced it on the Manheim Market Report for Jan 2002:
Above Average Condition
Wholesale $32,813
Retail $35,289
as you can see, dealers make their real margins on used cars...
i'm actually employed by AutoTrader.com and i have access to auction info. send me a private message of where you live and i'll tell you the closest auction... getting in is up to you though
PS: Actually, you can find out the info on your own at www.manheim.com you can still send me a pm if you want though

Is there such a large price jump from a 99 to a 2000? I know a couple of guys got their 99 GS400 w/Nav for 25k. Now all of them dealt with the origional owners rather than an acution or dealership. It looks as though a 7k price jump is pretty high.

Yeah, cuz I am gonna probably go to Manheim, PA that is where I got my GS300 from and get a GS400. If not I need to find out where the market is good for GS's so I can get one at the best price. I just need to find where the off lease cars are going and then get one. I'll just have to call my friend for a print out.
