Hi, I have a GS 300 platinum edition which came with black emblems. I want to switch either to the 400 or 430 ebmlems. Does anyone if there was a platinum edition made for the GS 430 or what year the platiunm edition was discontinued.

Also does anyone know where to get the new emblems online?

don't touch them, if you do decide to replace get black pearl 300 emblems cuz thats what you drive.

Just debadge it, that way no one will know whether it's a 300 or 400 unless you race.

Slap a Rolex badge on your Seiko
Slap a Sony badge on your Daewoo T.V
Slap a Northern imprint on your Wal-Mart brand toilet paper
Slap a 8 bedroom house in the ads when your house has 3 bedrooms

The GS 300 is a perfectly fine piece of machinery. DO NOT slap those badges on your car. Leave the rice to Honda.

True story, I MET a guy with a GS 300 with 400 badges in Atlanta. I walked over to him and complitmented him on his car, he told me the same. The usual 10 T.Vs, big chrome rims etc. It was summer, our windows were down. The 400 badge was kinda sideways but no biggie I thought.

I look inside at the T.Vs, no wood grain shift ****.
Dead giveaway it was a 300. Why? A GS 300 is a fine car.

If we are all that caught up in badges, let's slap LS 430 on our GS 400s!
Though I didn't have bdges on my GS (and of course all my friends thought it was silly, why not advertise 400).

U want to be faster, turbo or s/c your GS 300.

 

I think I posted this once before, why not go with: "GS 340" that way you have everyone confused. then you could even attach the v340. but then again, I wouldnt.

 

Yea but I don;t really race so no one is going to burn me and I find out that way that the tags are fake. I mean I like the 300 but I'd rather get the 400 or 430. Do you think if I take off the 300 it will leave a mark or you can take off cleanly.

I mean when I put on the 400 or 430 will there be any left overs on the car that it was a 300. (I mean on the trunk.)

Assume you mean foglights, but you probabaly still won't have HIDs to match, right?. I think stock GS400s sit a little different than GS300's, I can ususally spot the difference before I see the badges. Anybody looking at the shifter, steering wheel, etc that knows the GS will know you are a big faker.

There are a lot of threads on removing the badges, just search for 'debadge'.

Before you do it consider the following... Everyone at the dealer will laugh at your car in the shop when they pop the hood. If you take it to another mechanic they might order the wrong parts for your car (OR you have to face the embarassment of saying "I've got the GS430 badges on it, but it's really a GS300. I'm a poser, so please don't use the wrong parts on my car".

In the end, its what makes you happy so do what you want. IMO this is not something I'd ever consider.... I've talked to a guy locally that came up and was asking me questions about my car and I was looking at his and he had to admit he had put the faker badges on his car... very embarassing moment for him, I didn't say anything but could see how he acted and felt bad for him.
