Hey everyone. The other day I turned my a/c on, and there was a squeaking sound that came from my engine compartment, which sounded like a pulley needed to be greased. My car idle suffered and was going to die out. I turned the a/c off (but left the vent going) and the sound & hesitation went away. Do you think this is my a/c compressor that died? It sounds like it to me... Help... Does anyone know where to buy a new/refurbished/used a/c compressor at a good price?

 

Well if you turn on the AC and then hear that noise, and then turn off the AC and the noise stops, then yeah that means something is up with your compressor. I would pop the hood and have a look and see what the compressor doesn when you turn it on and off.
