Hi guys,i have rx330 and here i rarely use the ac in summer,i notised a grinding noise on starting the ac i mean at the time i push the ac button on,lasting only one or two seconds,i never had anything like this with other cars,,is that normal,ac is cooling fine thanks

 

if it lasts a second or two its usually the belt slipping from when the AC compressor starts, but that is more of a squealing sound. otherwise its the sound of the clutch mechanism in the AC compressor engaging, but that really shouldnt make more than an instantaneous sound if any (slight click sound, you wont be able to hear it unless your outside the vehicle).
