Exclamation hard start in cold weather

hey,

i did a search, but couldn't find much. this is my first time living up in cold weather (read: weather that stays below 32 for more than a few hours at a time), and on a couple occasions now the starter is really slow and almost seems like battery is very low whenever i don't drive the car for three to six days......i've never left the car for more than a week without starting it, but that was the time i thought for sure it wasn't going to start.

anyone else have this problem or know of any clues? should i get a battery warmer or engine block warmer? is this typical stuff that happens in cold climates?

thanks

If you have the OEM battery that is over three years old, you may consider a new battery.

Definately sounds like the battery is weak... Best thing to do is get it checked out.

New Wal-Mart battery for $29.99 should cure it. I have mine for 3 years already.

it might not be that battery. I just had this problem after the car sat for a few days after our first snow. i turned the key and there was no start, no clicking, nothing. All accessories worked just fine, turned them off and tried 5 or 6 more times. Still nothing. The last time I actually turned the key and held it here for a couple seconds and it started right up. I'm relieved, but I'm at a loss as to why this happened.
