Mark levinson sound system broken

I am so lost when it comes to my sound system. Since I purchased my car the audio never worked, it's a Lexus with a “luxury” sound system so it more much more complicated than a regular sound system. I feel like I narrowed down the issue to my head unit being broken and the volume not working. So I purchased a new one and it did nothing. Now I'm here asking for help and gonna explain my issue. I have a Lexus GS300 2nd gen with the Mark Levinson sound system. I turn the ignition and for a second you will hear audio from the speakers because they connected to a radio station, but then just shut off abruptly. After that, I have no clue how to get the audio back on besides whenever I use navigation the car speakers will tell me where to go like Google Maps. So the only thing that doesn't work is music, but everything else does which is what confuses me, also the music will play when I first start the car which makes no sense to me either. HELP!

Yeah. That’s weird. It might be the amp somehow, but you got me.

Do the steering wheel controls work still?

with vol up, does it show on the screen?

Yes, my steering buttons work, but whenever I use the volume it doesn't show anything on the screen though, when I first start the car I can hear the volume go up or down when I turn the ****

The Mark Levinson audio system is known for the amplifier dying and needing to be replaced. They are available On eBay, or you find a donor vehicle but you could easily buy another dead one. I would suggest finding a seller on eBay with several available or one that has been bench tested. So you don’t end up stuck with another dead one. I am sure there is a how-to in here somewhere that will help you swap them out
