I say just let it slide...

I was in a smiliar situation a couple of months ago, me being the at fault person. The guy got out, we looked at the car, only a tiny scratch, and all he said was "I think we can let this one slide" and got in his car and drove off. To this day I am still incredibly thankful.

If he really is such a great friend, and the damage is incredibly minimal, I say let bygones be bygones and enjoy the friendship

Don't let $100.00 come between a true friendship. If it's just a scratch it can't be more than 100.00 to repair. If he see's that you have to get it repaired, he may even opt to cover the bill for you. I have to agreee with Captain & Blue, hold onto the friendship.

Same here, most of us suffer more costly damage in parking lots. Let it slide .....

Default well...estimate. 300

This morning...
I checked on sunlight...
about a hand size scratches....visible...and it's like scratched by cat's nail..
well...I used remover, and wax, and polisher...the scratch is deep..so there is no way out of unless painted...-.-
I got estimate 300 to repaint bumper, 490 in one place....
I know the body shop in NY (owner is my friend) he said he need two days and 300 dollars...
well what should I do? let him pay? or what....I told him it have to be repaired and cost $300..
now he says do you really have to repaint it...I got little angry because he damaged my car and I think I have the power to say about the accident. Now he want me to not fix it....what the hell....
I don't know what's going on here between me and friend...
kind of sucks..... I don't want to break out our relationship but I also want to fix my car...-.-

MAn~ it's hard...

Try going half and half. Tell him he did the damage but your not worried about it. You just want to fix it so it looks the way it did. Go 150 a piece and put it to rest. This is a stupid argument with no possibility of a good ending if you don't get rid of it.

Default it's been resolved with beer....^^

We ended up with 150/150 and fix the bumper.
I think it's fair since he didn't damage whole bumper and there was a small damage before the accident which is caused by me. happy ending...
I told him that not to pay and he said " I want to pay part of it for peace in my mind." so it is good now.
I will use polisher to buff of his front bumper since it's not bad.

good ? right?

That's great that the two of you were able to come to a peaceful and fair agreement.
