Gear Shifter in Lexus Aristo
Hi,
I've just received the bad news from my mechanic that the gear shifter in my 1997 Aristo is full of play (would not select park) and needs replacing. Aristo's are quite rare in the UK as they are import only, so I was wondering if the GS300 shifter was the same unit as there are plenty of those available here. Please - no guess work or assumptions. If you KNOW that the gear selectors are the same (interchangeable) or have an alternative solution please let me know.
Spec of my car:
1997 Toyota (Lexus) Aristo V300 Vertex Edition
Second Generation S160
Engine Code 2JZ-GTE
Thanks,
Adam.

Pull it off and replace the bushings? It's essentially a lever that connects the bottom of the shifter to the transmission selector on the side.
The bushings are either destroyed or the rod is bent. Here is a complete parts list. (This forum snips the URL. Use google and find it, It's a BEPVZ_3312)
