Default SQUEEEKY breaks

OMG. my car is begining to **** me off and become emabarassing. after i drive for more than 10 minutes my breaks start squeeking. Most of the time under 40MPH it will squeek. even if i don't apply the breaks. but when i BARELY apply the breaks it goes away. but if i push down a little harder it squeeks even louder.

does anyone know whats causing this. i check my breakpads and they still are thick. i just changed them like 3-4 months ago. whats causing the noise. its a very high pitch squeek. also i find that if i tap the breaks it stops for a few sec and comes back. HELP ME

Maybe a build-up of brake dust????? Try hosing the brake area with water. My Toyota Camry was a real squeeker. I had to clean out the brake dust every so often.

i've had the same problem recently... so will blasting the front wheels with the hose do the trick?? or do i have to take things apart and really clean them?

A brake parts cleaner spray bottle will do a much better job of cleaning than the hose will. Use the extension supplied with it and get some between the brake pad. its really high pressure so it will get into all tight spaces. I have some left over in my trunk and i spray my discs and calipers every so often especially on long trips.
