Default Brake Cleaner

what's the difference(pros/cons) of Chlorinated vs Non-Chlorinated brake cleaners? I'm gonna do the front brakes so I just wanted to know which is better. I heard chlorinated is bad on plastics. I was also gonna use the brake cleaner to prep/clean the weather stripping that I need to glue back on.

Clorinated brake cleaner is illegal here in CA... our Non-clorinated stuff works just fine for all of my needs. Just use what is cheaper and avoid spraying it on rubber and painted surfaces.. you'll be fine.

Yeah just realized how bad it is on rubber. I was cleaning the front shims on an RX350 while changing the brake pads and there is some rubber coating on the inside of the shims that bubbled up a bit after being soaked in the brake cleaner. It's not that bad though since it's just added protection against squealing and I used grease for that.
