how many quarts?

Default how many quarts?

how many quarts of oil do in our motors? i can't seem to find the spec anywhere under the hood....

well i just put 5 and it read full on the dipstick. i didn't primer the filter, i just lubed the seat and threads and installed. i read your post too late...

whats prime the filter? i usually just dip my finger in new oil and spread it around the rubber and teeth of the new filter. is that priming it?

well i learned about that many moons ago when i went to "be an auto tech school." basically you just dump some oil in the oil filter before you install it so it has oil in it already.......cause lets say you dump just 5 liters of oil in without doing that first some of that oil will be lost in the filter so to speak.....so you won't have a full 5 quarts. but whatever....to each his own....just answering a question with what i was taught and what i practice.

5.5 Synthetic (5W-30)
or
4.5 Regular Oil

ok guys.....i originally said 6 cause i don't know of any place you could go and buy 5.5 quarts of oil.....but sorry i didn't make myself clear. and of course your going to have some extra cause you can't dump a whole quart into the oil filter.
