Default Lets talk SPLASH GUARDS

So now that my car is tucking really nice, I'm bottoming out on the splash guards in the fronts. Has anyone removed these on their cars?? I looked in the engine bay, and to be honest...there doesn't seem like much dirt, grime, water, or mud would get in EVEN if I remove the splash guards underneath.

My question is this: HOW MUCH MORE CLEARANCE WOULD IT GIVE ME, and is it worth removing since I'm rubbing on them when I hit big dips on the road??

BY SPLASH GUARDS...I mean the fender lining

The spash guard is not there only to keep dirt out. It also assists in the cooling of your engine by directing air.

Don't worry, with enough rubbing, the fender liners will eventually be self-clearanced. Mine rub too.

OK, after looking at it again...I might just remove the top section of the fender lining. Not the whole thing entirely. Anyone know how much more space this will free up on the top??

FYI: I began to remove the top part of the fender liner and I realized that this wouldn't give me any additional clearance by removing this. Actually, it's better to keep them on because it protects the wiring harness. SO IN THE END...I just kept them on. I would advise everyone to do the same.

yeah there is barely any clearance to be gained. The ABS wires is exposed and is at a risk of getting rubbed on by the tire. TYhis is what happened on onf my Gs I recetly purchased and and the wire was frayed by the tire rubbing against it.
Good call on leaving it as is.

Sorry to hear this man. What a bummer. BUT, it's the price we pay to have our cars modded. Next time, I'm going to get a 35-series tire. But then, I risk bending/cracking my rims. It never ends!!!
