Default Resetting tail light indicator on dash

Does anyone know how to reset the tail light indicator on the instrument cluster? I had to replace my right side turn signal bulb but the dash light still stays on. All the other bulbs are OK. Search only turned up 5 threads but none mentioned resetting the dash light.

It's probably indicating that one of your brake lights is out. There is no need to reset it and I don't think it's possible. It will clear when all the bulbs are good.

Hmm ok... I know the brake lights are good, maybe the reverse lights or license plate lights are out.

Reverse and light plate light does not trigger the dash light.

Have someone press the brake pedal while you stand in the back of the car. I'm positive it is a brake light. Our brake lights are dual filament, the second filament does not light up until the brake pedal is pressed.

I think the Light does come on when ur in reverse and ur reverse lights are out. From my experience it turns on when the bulb that is out is supposed to be used.

If it's a brake light, it will throw it and leave it on until the bulb is replaced. Jmai is right. THe plate lights and reverse lights won't trigger the dash light indicating a bulb is out.

i know for sure it's not my main brake lights. i had the right turn signal bulb swapped out then my friends watched the taillights as i turned on my lights, depressed the brake pedal and signalled left and right. they indicated everything looked fine. i notice the dash light comes on when i switch from park to drive. what about the 3rd brake light? would that trigger it?

I'm almost 100% positive it is one of your brake lights........... It is sometimes hard to tell. From the last line that you wrote, it seems to be one of the dual filament that only lights up when you press the brake pedal. Try parking in a darker location and have someone hold down the brake pedal while you stand outside a look.
