What kind of struts are you using? I didn't expect new struts to make that much of a difference. I would like to know also if it was like that when it first came out.

I replaced my trunk struts with oem ones from the dealer and it made a big difference as it would not drop down unexpectedly. From the video, how did you make it so that when you open the trunk, it automatically goes all the way up? thx

those struts he has is oem for the trunk with a spoiler. theres a 15-25lb diffrence between the struts for non-spoilers and spoilers. but if you want to save a pooh load of money buy a acura legend hood strut from pep boys or wherever and you will pay 20-40for both as a opposed to 115 for ONE strut. thats what i did and mine do excellent. granted mine doesnt swing open like his but mine will open 3-4 inches and if its a day when my seals arent sticking it will open 6-8" its weird how much my seals stick to each other

i bought mine off ebay and i havn't gotten around to installing my trunk ones yet but the hood ones work very well. i paid around 70 to 80 bucks for both the trunk and hood. good stuff...i hope my trunk will open like the one in the video =)

i bought the same thing off of eBay both hood and trunk struts. installed both myself in about an hour. they're awesome. i especially like the trunk ones because NOW, when i hit the trunk release on my alarm, the trunk just opens right up.
i highly recommend doing this mod!

I installed the trunk struts from ebay as well.... my wife's car so it's funny watching her get on tippy toes and using all she's got to close the trunk now.

wow if only they'd hit the search button instead of post.

the struts in that video are for the GS300. GS300 didn't come with a JDM spoiler from factory, with the GS300 struts, you will be hard pressed to find ones that are for a trunk with a spoiler, as the USDM spoiler only weighs a couple pounds difference.

i have the EXACT same struts on my trunk with the OEM spoiler, and when it's warm out, about 20+ C it pops up like that as well.
