Default Window Regulator assembly

Hey Guys,

I was recently working on my car door on the driver side. The wheel that holds the cable for the window accidently fell off and got unwind. For the life of me i cannot figure out who to wind this thing back up. The way i think its suppose to wind up is way too tight. Anybody run into this problem before or have any suggestions or help?

thanks

The wheel accidently fell off? Sounds like it's broken anyway.

Oh man...I know how much of a headache that can be! It happned to me awhile back. It took me quite a bit of tinkering to get it back into the proper place. Oh and btw, it's supposed to be tight - you have to remember, the regulator has to support the weight of the window.

Hey Seize,

Any tips man? I got it wound up and i realized that the has to be "flipped" so that way the wires are criss crossed, but when I do that its super tight. I mean the springs on both ends are fully compressed and there is no room for any sort of slack which i know is wrong.

Right now I just put it back in temporarily but i'm not using that window, I put it in with the wheels NOT criss cross which seems to be easier to put in but when i push up on the window it goes down and down is up that is why i'm assuming the cables has to be criss crossed. HELP!

I really wish I could help but I haven't messed around with it for over a yr now and I pretty much forgot how to go about it.

Without it right in front of my face it'd be very difficult for me to try to explain it because I really don't know how I did it. I think I just got lucky by being really persistent.

Thanks.

Just to update. Once the wheel comes off it is EXTREMELY hard to get back on. If you do it wrong your windows will be reversed. Meaning when you roll up they go down and when you roll down they go up. It is very frustrating and time consuming when the wheel falls off.

Good luck
