Did any of the US cars have this speaker/whatever part at the top of the center console ?

 

Im not to familiar with the 1st gens, but that speaker is for the ML sound system. So if the 1st gens had the option of the ML, then yes?

 

I dont think the 1st gen had the ML. They didnt even put that in the 2nd gen the first year did they ?
My 02' gs430 has it

Its the centre speaker for the Fujitsu Ten sound system in the JDM model.

There is a switch on the system which is kinda like Pro Logic and brings the vocals to the centre. The button is labeled 'SE' I am guessing 'Surrond Enhance' or something similar.

That threw a spanner in the works then, didn't it?!?!

I have seen some aristo's with and some w/o

 

Mines a 1994 Gen 1 and has that speaker on the dash.

But my car hasn't got the "SE" button on the stereo. And what is ML?

 

I presume your car isnt USDM ? ML is Mark Levinson. The premier sound system

I would actually love to make mine RHD. I really wish we could just bring the aristo's here. I have my eye on one right now.

Yeah, mine isnt USDM, but a UK spec car. Right hand drive and the stereo just says Lexus on it. But i do know that the top speaker does actually work.

 

Going to put a deposit down on some 19" eurolines tomorrow as well! Super excited on those!
