Default Speedometer off...

Hey guys, my speedometer is off. Wheel size is correct. I've matched other cars before at 70, The Speedometer is off by 5. Weird thing is when i'm going 30, those speed trap trailers show i'm going 26. Theres gotta be some kind of ratio like 1 mph off for every 10 mph but the 30mph speed and 70mph speed just doesnt make sense.

Anyone have their speedometer calibrated/adjusted?? Where and how much??

Thanks!

Max

Has it always been off or is this change new? Have you changed the brand of tire from stock? Some times the same tire size is made slightly taller or shorter in diameter from different tire companies. But even a full inch would only change it about 1.5 -2 MPH at 60 MPH though.

Yes, i have a set of yokohama winter tires which are 205 so they are actually smaller than what i have now....215 which is whats supposed to be. With the 205, the speedo was really off. MAybe i need to buy 225s and just go 10 over???? AHHH This just doesn't make sense

right now, summer tires are on, 215/60/16 (recommended/stock size) and the speedo is still off.

Feels like i go slower than the speedo shows. The speed traps don't lie right??? And my friends car's don't lie either. Thats a big scratch on the noggin

Mine is off by like 4-5mph on my stock wheels. It doesn't bother me much though.

tire width won't affect crap

overall height will though, ie bigger rims and not a smaller sidewall profile to compensate for the larger size rims
