Default Problem with 1st gen

Here is the deal, about two weeks ago I had to jump my car off, I took a look at the battery and noticed it is probably time to be replaced (so I did). After replacing the battery the car ran for about a week with no problems. Until one morning I wake up and my car is dead again! I was thinking it can not be the alternator because most of the driving I do is at night, and I haven't noticed any dim lights or anything like that. Keep in mind that the car will run off of only jumping it for a couple days to even a week. I was thinking that something is draining my battery, but I have no clue...I don't have an aftermarket alarm, only a mp3 deck, everything else is completely stock. Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions!

do you drive your car everyday? this happens when i dont drive the car for maybe a week. i've been told its the alternator too. i'll make a post on the sc forums and see if i can find some help

what I don't get is why is the alt. keeping it charged when it's running, I left my car running for over a hour today and it did'nt die. If the alt. is messed up would't it lose power??

Check the connections to the battery. If you replaced it with an optima the cables may be loose as the posts on optima batteries are a little smaller than stock. I had the same thing happen to me and it was def. not my alternator Go check the cables at the battery and report back.

Have you tried replacing the battery cables? for very little cash to replace, they are a piece that can steal power.

Can you buy them at autozone or anywhere like that?

checked the cables this morning they were tight , my ground wire does look pretty crappy, might try to replace it this evening.

I' ll keep that in mind, is it cheaper than the gs300? I tried looking it up at autozone.com but it did not give me an option for TT or single, would it be the same, oh and also i looked up the 93-97 is that the right years?

for the supra alt just say you want a 1994 model one
and they are not to much more then the one for the GS
they take your old one as a core

check the connector for white powdery stuff. If you see it, there is corrosion and it is draining the battery. You could use baking soda and water to clean the top of the battery and the connector, or use plain soap and water. After you reconnect the cable to battery, apply ample amount of grease around the connectors. That helped me - 94 gs.

I talked to a mechanic the other day, and he told me it sounds like something is drawing a current. I will be getting it fixed this weekend hopefully.
