Hey, just got a 94 GS on friday. Turns out the old owner had a system in it but when he traded it in, he just thew in a different headunit in but never hooked it up. It's mounted and everything which leads me to believe he would have connected it if he could have. Maybe it needs a new harness or somthing, but anyways, I got the piece around the shifter out of place and the ash tray/ lighter pocket out, and also undid the 3 bolts so now the center has more lee way but is still stuck unless Im not pulling hard enough or there bolts I dont see.. But now what I dont know is if the shifter is a problem that I dont see. I wasnt able to get the top part off of it, I dont know if you need to completely remove that piece around the shifter or just get it loose enough just to get the ash tray out.

The ashtay is just held in by clips, so you just have to pull on it really hard. I posted up the wiring diagram for our stereos. Searh for it and that will help you. It's in this forum.
I don't know if he tried to get the aftermarket HU to work with the stock amp or he removed the stock amp, too, and put in aftermarket amps. He might have left you with no amps at all. Good luck.
Let me know if you need some help with the diagram.
I really need a DIY on how to remove the whole dash, I asked in a couple of threads but since this one has the right title I was wondering if you guys can help, I need to replace my AC evaporator, and the dealer is chargin 500 bucks for the install, So im doing it myself, I bought the evaporator already, so I need help taking off the dash, also I was planning on converting it to black soon, so that would help too!
You have to take the cluster off, right behind it is a bolt that needs to be removed. Also the shifter top plate thogheter with the AC and stereo unit (more bolts back there). The glove compartment needs to be out as well (more bolts behind it). I am putting thogheter a writte up with pics but it is not ready yet. just giving you major pointer here. it is kind of complicated too and it takes time. Be patient so you wont break any clips! Any questions you can PM me.

I look forward to the writeup
Looks like I am going to have to do something with the blend doors on my a/c unit. I hear a motor back there constantly working and the A/C at times doesn't blow so cold.
if it is for that, you can take the glove compartment and you will have access to the motor an dblower. Also, make sure you don't have any AC leaks before taking on this huge HUGE step of taking your dash board out.
