I have a little problem here, dunno if anyone can help
... I have a '93 Gs300 and locked the main switch(pushed it in) between the Gas tank and trunk releases ... problem is, I only received one key with the car ..I believe this is the valet key since there is no keyless entry button on it ...and it won't unlock the switch, and since the previous owner had removed the trunk lock from the lid, I have no way of getting in the trunk now

If you have the valey key, I think you can still open the trunk, but it has to be manually by getting out of the car and inserting the key.
Just tried mine with the valet key and it works. Is the key going in all the way? What sounds, if any, do you hear when you turn the key counter-clockwise? Does it click but it doesn't pop out?
..the key seems to be going all the way in, but doesn't turn in either directions.
..I was under the impression that the valet key only allows the car to be driven a short distance then it cuts off? think i read that on one of the forums. So, I thought this key was the master key, because I drive long distances without any problems ........but then it doesn't work on the glove box nor the main switch for the trunk release, goes all the way in on both, but doesn't turn, which is characteristic of a valet key.
Sorry for confusing you. The key I used turned out to be a master key without the remote, so it looks like a valet key. The valet key (aka sub key) cannot open the trunk or the glove-box, according to page 8 of the manual. Since your key won't open the trunk or glove-box, you definitely have a sub-key (aka valet key), so you have to get a master key from the dealer. Bring your registration and driver's license with you so they can make a key for you.
ok ... this is my concern, If I buy a master key (from the group buy - no remote feature), would I need to program it? ..and can I program it with just the valet key in my posession?
