Tire replacement
Greetings all. I was shocked and disappointed when I went into a certified Lexus dealership for my 30,000 service and they told me three of my tires needed replacement and were almost bare. The reason the 4th tire didn’t need replacement was because about a month ago I hit a nasty pothole and it went flat. At that time, that tire was replaced. Although the car does take a New York beating from potholes , scorching hot summers and cold snowy/icy winters I , in my humble opinion , take very good care of the car. I’m not an aggressive driver and have the car serviced every 5,000 miles at a certified Lexus dealership. I’ve mentioned before on the forum this is my first Lexus. In the past I’ve had tires that lasted over 60,000 miles with the cars I’ve had before my first Lexus. I also know a lot of different factors determine how long the tires last for. I sent an inquiry into Lexus.com and they pretty much stand by what the dealership recommended. So I figured I would post about it on here and see if anyone had a similar experience. Thanks !
OEM tires aren't super durable, and for that matter, aren't super good at anything. There's a very recent thread on this topic in this same ES 7th Gen forum, and I encourage you to scan down and find it; it includes a detailed discussion by brand name of your tire options.
Most oem tires seem to be garbage and of inferior quality. I'm running Goodyear Maxlife Assurance on my wife's RX and my ES. Superior to the Michelins both came with. In fact, the ones on the RX now have over 20k miles and barely show signs of wear.

I just bought a 2020 300H with 17;000 miles. I had a 2017 Carmy XSE that I put on Michelin Cross Climate about a year ago. Love those tires in the rain. They were quieter then the continentals that were OEM. Anyone have Cross Climates on their 300H.
Don't have 'em, but talked with reps for both Michelin and TireRack about them. Finished second in my all-season, decent-performing tire search (to Vredestein Quatrac Pro), and if those don't work out, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the CrossClimates next time. Tire Rack gives them very high marks, and Consumer Reports rates them best in class.
