Yeah the copper would have to grow on me and the white seats while they look okay when new, I can't imagine how they will age. But you can answer that - you have white seats in the T?
Y? yes white seats. I like them and i'd do it again. the white seats IMO are a signature feature of a tesla. a must.
requires more upkeep than black though obviously. i imagine the dirt is the same on black, you just don't notice/see it.
The front door is too small - doesn't convey luxury. The 6ES has much better door proportions.
The door on the new ES will probably be bigger, not smaller than the Gen 6, at least in the height of the door!
Lexus needs 6 inches beneath the floorboards for the BEV battery. To make up for that lost 6 inches, they make the car itself 6 inches taller. The driver side door opening in the 2025 ES is 46". On the 2025 RZ bev, the door opening is 52 inches, thus the RZ's high waist. And the new ES will too - the 6" for the battery is can't just go away, so they're going to break up those big door panels with the zig zag thing, that I think gives the new ES much better proportions in the side view than most other bevs and I think it looks way sleeker than most other bevs and the Zoro slash on the side (and added length) helps to accomplish that.

I could probably get away with it since I rarely have anyone else in my car which I use for daily commuting. Everything else we use the RX. The last time a few friends loaded into my car, they asked me if it was brand new - I said no going on seven years old!

if you clean them twice a month (at minimum) they do well. when you let stuff build up, it becomes harder to remove, on white. (my experience)

The side proportions of the new ES are just objectively bad. Just as the i4 sedan except the front doors are normal but the rears are stunted.
sharing platforms between BEV and ICE is a bad idea in terms of packaging, optimization, efficiency, etc etc. (the list is massive) usually the result is you end up with weird doors, weird proportions, etc. but these manufacturers don't wake up and decide to make a bad decision. its just that it takes a ton of time & resources to develop a dedicated BEV only platform. that assumes you have the high tech stuff to jam in there, motors, HVAC, inverters etc. for now most shared ICE-BEV cars are using really crude dinosaur-era BIG parts in their EV variants. that's why they have no frunk etc. So sharing platforms just to get an "EV" on the books is the next best thing for them. if anyone really wants an EV, i wouldn't get any that shares platforms with a gas variant. you're getting a super compromised car in just about every way.
conversely if you want a gas or gas hybrid car, getting one that was developed for BEV use is also bad, IMO. for one, i wonder how they'll manage the space where the BEV battery goes. is it just gone to waste? empty?
we'll see what kind of fuel economy the new hybrid gets.
In terms of proportions of the Crown, i've circled the areas which I think are weird. I hope these are ironed out somehow for the ES. Weird things happen when you stretch a car too long in the back. glass has to go somewhere. and doors stop abruptly and make the rear doors look stunted. door glass gets too big and it cant roll down due to the wheel arch. so you end up with a very square and short door glass despite having a long door. this in turn gives you huge quarter windows if you slope the roof like that. everything affects everything. that fuel door lid is comically big too. gee.
I think the 7ES rear window is WAY too slanted. It's not much different than a windshield which needs wipers.

Just like the Crown, it's pointless to style the rear window this way unless you provide a hatchback. This is the worst of all worlds: the tippy handling and compromised fuel economy that results from SUV height, the compromised visibility of a hatchback rear window, and the limited loadability of a sedan.
To see this done right, see the recent A4/A5 and A6/A7. One of each pair is a proper sedan, and the other is a versatile hatchback that will swallow giant cargo. Either would have made more sense than this half-camel, half-snake beast by committee.
I can't stand when they try to make sedans look more and more like crossovers. Yuck.
I love the rear end of the current ES 350 with the real exhaust outlets and real exhaust tip inside them. I can't stand those fake exhaust outlets on the bumpers that are just decorations. Nothing behind them. Instead when you look under the bumper, you see a tiny **** pipe for the exhaust. LOLOL!!
The ES should always look like a baby LS. When I bought mine, my good friend asked me where I got $100,000 for a car. I'm like wut? He thought it was an LS. I'm like I don't have that kind of money.
I see hints of the Toyota Crown. It's a nice car, but not my cup of tea.
I got an email from Lexus (lexus@reply.lexuscommunications.net) this morning telling me that the new ES is wonderful and I can even get an all-electric version. It linked to this webpage:

I did not sign up for the follow-up texts. I do not plan to buy another Lexus or any electric car. The '24 ES350 will likely outlast me.
It will be interesting to see how it performs on the initial sales report once it reaches US dealerships. I won’t give a definitive NO, but based on the current specifications and design, it’s certainly NOT on my list.
Likewise, my '23 300h will likely be my last ES, given the direction of the current generation’s styling and interior; unless I can move up to an LS500 or LC500, assuming they don’t end up like the ES by then.
I prefer sedans over SUVs, and a fully electric vehicle isn’t currently cost-effective due to the power costs in my area. So, this will likely be my last Lexus as well.
