To ease the transition, Lexus should also offer a 2026 Retro ES-EV with a 7th Gen body (I wonder if corporate actually reads our posts).

The more I look at it, the more I don't like it. This is such a departure from Lexus of old. Reminds me of the step that BMW took with the 7 series. No thanks.

I was just thinking the same thing.

When I first saw it a few days ago, I thought maybe it would grow on me. It hasn't. It's grown worse.

I'm no marketing genius, but this could turn out to be a big fat dud. I'm thinking Edsel.

Some say it's for the Chinese market. I'd be surprised if the Chinese like this design.

The other bad news is the Corolla like acceleration. And I'm not meaning the GR.

The other bad news is that I can gas up my 2019 in 6 minutes at Costco. And who wants to sit and watch a car for 30 minutes while it charges? Add to that info that a lot of people live north of N. Carolina and points south and the charging time would be much longer. Not for me, not doing it Fred...

You don't have to wait for 30 minutes if you charge at home (as they say )

Found some interesting sales data on Lexus US sales for 2024. SUV's represent 80% of sales sedans 20%. RC LS and LC represent only 1.5% of all of Lexus sales. The ES accounts for 65% of Lexus sedan sales. In the last ten years ES sales have dropped 40% in a ten year period when Lexus unit sales have increased. This might account for the ES's new radical update Lexus thinking have to try something different. Lexus is eliminating the RC. Talks of maybe the LS and UX. It makes no financial sense to have assembly lines tied up with three or four vehicles that just don't sell and have people waiting for RX TX and NX hybrids.

We have two vehicles. The EV would be for everyday driving and probably trips no more than 300 miles round-trip. My RX getting 38mpg would be for our out of town trips.

Wow one of the ugliest Lexus I have seen in the last decade.

The iconic design of the past is gone. Long live Lexus. A sad day

Default ES, electrified and hybridized

Toyota has been clamoring this for years and i am excited that I am alive to see it come to fruition
Kudos to Toyo/Lexus teams
While i now drive a 2025 Lucid Air Pure, I do look forward to getting a 350e awd , and I shall keep my naturally aspirated V6 , the best v6 bar none

what about you guys? Electrified or hybrid
