Default Rear deck removal

I recently just installed a subwoofer on my 2022 ES 300h UL, was wondering if there is any guidance on how to remove the rear deck as it has a considerable amount of shaking when I turn the bass up now and I would like to do some sound deadening to the rear deck to reduce the noises caused by the increased bass. Thanks in advance for any info!

You have to remove the rear seat (vertical part) and then the deck.

I can’t figure out how the seat is held down, are there bolts somewhere that are hidden or something?

have you done an internet search or YouTube search. There may not be a lot on '22 model but older models may be very similar. I imagine not too many members have removed rear seats in a '22 either.

Rear seat removal is usually straightforward. Typically the seat base slip into brackets or slots beneath the seat back and snaps in two to three places in front. You pull up on the seat base at the footwell and it should snap loose. Once you've removed the base there will be additional bolts holding the seatback to the frame at the base of the seatback. You'll want to first remove the headrests. The seatback will lift up towards the rear window once you've removed the bolts at the base.

There are 4 bolts on the bottom, remove them and then push the seat up.

This sounds right for most Lexus rear seats. Watch out for electrical connectors that may be attached to seat bottom or back depending on options.

Correct. There are airbags built into the seat back with yellow connectors on each side. And don't forget to reconnect them or your SRS Airbag light will come on with a bunch of messages. I even got a call from the dealer telling me I needed to bring the car in for service because they got a notice from the car that there was an error. Once I reconnected them and restarted the car, the error went away.

The panel covering the rear deck can actually be removed without removing the seats but it's not ideal. You can pop out the center plastic grille from the front. It has clips that connect from the rear. After that, the panel becomes more flexible and can be bent upward to release tension on the holes that the rear pillars connect to. Again, it's not ideal because you're bending it in places it's not really meant to be bent. I've done it, but I think after doing it a few times you'd probably damage it. However, if you made sure you did the soundproofing the right way the first time, you could probably remove it this way then just never do it that way again.

I did what you're doing - added a more powerful sub and amp and yes - it rattled like a box of bolts. I've done a lot of sound deadening with dynomat type material as well as felt. It helped a lot. Some of the sound deadening can also be done from inside the trunk, working with the bottom of the deck and securing the seat belt tensioners, trunk springs, plastic fittings and other moldings. I probably spent a total of 2 hours between the top and bottom of the deck to get where I am now, which is about 80% noise reduction. When I really crank the sub up I still get some rattles but most are gone.

I used a bunch of the cheapo Amazon
material material
which worked fine.

Would be a big help if you included a link to the YouTube video.

There's a bazillion YouTube videos so trying to find the particular one you have in mind will be a tad bit challenging.

80% the same just seats don't fold down. Take out screws on bottom by seatbelts and remove back cushions.
