Anyone else get the pop up notification on the car's infotainment screen notifying of a software update? I did it. didn't seem to change anything. it was quick too... too quick.

 

I received and installed it. I don't really use the Enform Suite anyway so not sure what was updated.

 

whats enform anyway? does that include ACP? i know back in the day enform was something totally different, like opentable app or the weather channel.. cheesy apps. but i think today it encompasses more of the core functionality?

 

The IS received it too. Took literally like 5 seconds to install and it didn't even do a restart of the headunit. I pressed the more details button only to be greeted with the update version number, but no explanation as to what it actually was.

 

The APP suite where you can stream music (iHeart etc) and some other stuff I never use honestly - weather, sports scores etc.

 

On Lexus Software updates webpage I see two updates from Feb 11 which I installed last month. No new updates.

 

It showed up on my 2019 Avalon this morning as well, literally took me longer to approve it than it did to download and install. No discernible difference that I noticed.

 

My wife saw it and chose later and I have been trying to get it back but says no software update available. My history shows the updates I did in March. Was this for the enform apps? My screen for apps shows nothing there anyway in my 2020 ES 300h

 

A few weeks ago I installed the updates from Lexus website. It was over 1GB between 2 files. However earlier in the day I received over the air update on my vehicle. This is different update than ones from website. This is enform suite specific update. I haven't notice anything different. I am guessing it's just bug fixes.

 

I had this prompt this morning in my wife's RAV4 Prime. It took less than a minute to confirm all the screens and do the update. I didn't notice any changes.

 

The update came through on my wife's RX tonight as well. The home screen of the app suite now looks different than the last time I had seen it which was many months ago.

 

I did the same update last month, but I still received the over-the-air update today. On a recent update, all they did was remove one of the available apps. I wouldn’t be surprised if the same thing happened again since so many models were updated. Shows how widely used Enform is that nobody could even perceive a difference! No reason for Toyota to pay licensing if nobody is using an app.

 

Yeah, a while back they removed Pandora. There are around 9 apps left. Furthermore Lexus Enform App Suite functions only work within the continental United States, but not in Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Mexico, or Canada according to Lexus FAQ.

 

They could work in Sri Lanka and still do me no good

 

Yeah, it was dead on arrival. Many of the features already moved to "Lexus" app so it is only a matter of time before Lexus retires it.
