Default Text Message Timeout

Hi all. I just bought a 2022 ES350 FSport. When I get a text message, it seems that it permanently stays on the screen even if I don't want to answer it. Is there a timeout feature i can enable or a button on the steering wheel.i can use to back out? I've tried it all but th only way I can exit is to touch a button on the screen or hit the back button by the touch pad. It's a pain.

Mine has an "ignore" tab I click on and the message goes away.

But is there a timeout option if I choose to do nothing? My other cars did this. The message disappeared after about a minute if you didn't do anything.

Next engine start it will be gone. Use IGNORE or the escape button.

One finger click on the touchpad is not that tragic.

While it isn't as convenient as an automatic timeout you can use the voice command "Ignore" while an incoming text message notification is displayed to dismiss it. Press the steering wheel located voice command button and when the system beeps (indicating it is listening for voice input) just say "Ignore" and the message notification should go away.

In case you haven't discovered it yet, the voice command button on the steering wheel is located in the cluster of buttons on left hand side of the steering wheel - it is the one in the lower right corner with the stylized speaking head icon on it.

For reference. see page 176 of the pdf version of the LEXUS 2022 ES250,ES300H,ES350 NAVIGATION AND MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM OWNER'S MANUAL (OM06220U) for the list of voice commands applicable to text messaging operations.

You have to remember that the target Customer for these vehicles is not techy people that want the state of the art infotainment.

If you look there is even something called " DVD player" there. I heard that was from last century ( 😀&#128512

There is an option in settings to change from the full screen notification to a drop down, which I use. However, the drop down stays on the screen for maybe three seconds so there isn't time to click on it to read the message.
