The previous thread on this very subject went on for days... Think it was in 2018 on the Gen 6 forum.

I mean it's fine but left won't convince right and vice versa. I change at 6 or 7K. So far, I've never had an engine seize

Any sample taken from new engine will read high in silicone and probably same for copper. Copper is soft metal and will not damage engine.

Being attuned to cars and their engines and maintenance issues, I virtually never hear of engine lubrication issues from any car brand. I'm a 50 year Car and Driver subscriber. I think that people are sufficiently educated that their cars need oil changes and it's never been easier for them to do it. Even on this forum members state how often they change oil according to the manufacturer's schedule and their engines go 150 - 200k miles. Add to this that synthetic oil is so good and lasts so long that engine lubrication issues are virtually non-existent. Think these tiny women driving large SUV's worry about oil? Think again... They go by what's in their O.M or what the service writer bumps them up to when it's time for state inspection... Dump some Castrol, Pennzoil, Quaker State or other name brand oil into your wheels sit back and enjoy your ride...

Could not agree more. It is the law of diminishing returns. No way Amsoil or Royal Purple is twice or three times better than any of the oils you mentioned based on cost difference.. Use a major brand of synthetic and change oil every 10,000 miles and you will 99%' of the time never have an engine problem due to oil. Another option would be change every 5,000 or 7,500 miles using any major brand of synthetic and you will 99% of the time never have an engine problem due to oil.

Yes. I've said it before: People pay more attention than necessary to changing engine oil, and less attention than they should to changes of their transmission fluid.

They don't worry about oil, air pressure in the tires or anything else🤣🤣

Some years ago my wife who is a nurse, left very early in the morning for work in her Acura TL. A few minutes later she returned and said "something doesn't feel right". In the middle of the night 3 teenage idiots flattened ours and many other's tires with an ice pick. Two flat rear tires... "something doesn't feel right"... Uhhh yeah, guess so...

viscosity got too thin, what is the TBN number? I also do not see fuel dilution measurement.

Viscosity is thin because they used 0w16 oil. TBN is a value to gauge how long your oil is serviceable. Usually anything below 1.0 means the oil is spent. In this analysis it shows that the oil could have been in service longer. I guess this lab does not do fuel calculation.

fuel dilution is important measurement for GDI engine, I doubt its high by for 0w-16 viscosity should be 7.0-7.2, so it got a little thinner, fuel dilution would be one reason.
